My boyfriend and I wanted to just get away and spend a night in a hotel so we made a reservation through expedia for the next night. Got a phone call that next morning that our room was unavailable. After several hours on the phone we ended up with a room that was not what we were told it was, however they did issue me a100 gift certificate so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and booked a room for two nights a month or so later using the certificate. There was spouse to be a jacuzzi tub big enough for over two people in the room. We got there and it was basically a tub with jets and it was broke so we had to wait for someone to come fix it. They hotel was dirty and falling apart. There was mold in the bathroom and cob webs on the lamp. However, the final straw came when after not even being in the room an hour my boyfriend seen a cockroach. The front desk said they couldn't do anything because we booked through expedia. I spent the next four hours being passed around on the phone with Expedia until I was finally told they could not do anything other then refund me for the 2nd night if I chose to leave because it was only one bug. Ended hanging up and heading out at 3 in the morning in search of a new hotel at MY expense. Luckily we were able to find a nice one at a reasonable price but the next day when I called to make sure my refund for the one night was going through they only wanted to refund me 95 dollars of the 112 I paid per night and give me another gift certificate. After some arguing and telling the guy I didn't want a gift certificate because I would never book with them again I was able to get my full refund, but the service was absolutely ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!
