Expedia Left Me Stranded - Itinerary Number: 1101277810489


I am simply requesting a refund of $388.60 for the one-way ticket I had to purchase at the airport on May 24th, 2015, when Expedia told me I'd need to find my own way home after sending me an itinerary for a flight that did not exist. This is in reference to my trip on 21-24 May 2015 (Itinerary Number: 1101277810489). Here's why: On this trip booked through Expedia, I arrived at the airport for the return leg of my flight (my trip home from travel), only to find that the airline (Frontier Airlines) ticket counter was closed and they had cancelled my flight, according to a Frontier Rep via their 800-number, over a month ago. I had never been notified or refunded, and Expedia had sent me a confirmed itinerary only 48 hours prior - an itinerary confirming a flight that had apparently been cancelled over a month ago. Frontier Airlines is NOT on Expedia's list of budget airlines (where it's recommended to confirm directly with the airline). I had trusted the itinerary I received from Expedia within 48 hours of my trip, and was left stranded at the airport when it turned out that flight didn't exist (and Frontier Airlines would not rebook my travel). When I called Expedia at the airport to see how I could get home, Al (Expedia Employee ID #A16 - or so he told me), said Frontier Airlines does not allow Expedia to view details of travel. This is a huge problem - If Expedia sends me a confirmed itinerary, but cannot view changes/cancellations to that itinerary - then how can I ever trust booking with Expedia again??? With Frontier Airlines unable to rebook my flight (their ticket counter was closed), and Expedia saying they were not responsible since they could not view details of my itinerary, I was left with no other option than to find my own way home. I cannot believe that this day in age, a company like Expedia would tell a customer who booked a round-trip flight, to find their own way home.

Furthermore, the repeated attempts I've made at contacting Expedia regarding this monumental failure in their system have only fueled my distrust in the company, let alone my determination to publicize Expedia's incompetence. Expedia representatives have been rude and unhelpful, put me on hold for 45 minutes, and hung up on my all together.
